Aurora Aksnes, born June 15 1997 in Stavanger and is professionally known as Aurora often stylized in uppercase as AURORA is a Norwegian singer and songwriter. Her debut E.P. Running with the Wolves is released in May of 2015 from Decca Records. It has received high praise from the blogs and the press. Half the World Away, by the Oasis band for John Lewis Christmas advertisements and Nature Boy by Nat King Cole are two of the artist's high-profile recordings. Katy Perry shared a tweet where Perry promoted her song Runaway. Enjoy her day. Aurora Aksnes' earliest memory of music is finding a grand piano that was in the attic. The piano was fascinating to her the possibilities it offered. Jan Oystein Aksnes, her parents, May Britt Aksnes, and Jan Oystein Aksnes, encouraged their daughter to learn music as a passion rather as a career. She began to write writing her own songs. As well as Bjork as well, she mentions Leonard Cohen as an influence. To counter her mother's advice that her children ought not to aim to become famous with her songwriting, but instead realize the importance of themselves and their impact on society. She started playing piano when she was six years old and began writing music at the age of nine. It wasn't until her 14th birthday when she shared her story with her parents. Aurora was not a dream of her childhood. She just loves to write songs. She claims that music is her preferred method of feeling anything.
